VETCO LLC is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business incorporated in the state of Tennessee. We provide cost-effective and innovative technical services to the federal government.  Rod Nelson, founder and president of VETCO LLC, is a veteran of the United States Army and is disabled as a result of service in Viet Nam. He has over 35 years of progressive business experience gained in the federal government and private sector. As a former project manager and member of the federal government’s senior executive service with the Department of Energy, Rod has broad experience with the procurement, project, and regulatory requirements of the federal government. He developed excellent relations with the public, labor, special interest groups, state and federal regulators and elected officials at all levels (local, state, and federal). Rod also has experience with the Department of Defense. The Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project (WSSRAP), where he was the Project Manager, was performed under an MOA with the Department of Army, which provided partial funding. Rod interfaced with the Pentagon, Corps of Engineers, and Fort Leonard Wood to make the WSSRAP the most successful environmental cleanup project at the time. As the Assistant Manager of Defense Programs, Rod interfaced with the Department of the Navy on classified projects DOE performed for the Navy. During his federal career, Rod was consistently recognized for superior performance and leadership. During this period, he was recognized for the management of two secretarial non-proliferation initiatives and personally negotiating the Record of Decision for the on-site disposal cell with the Deputy Governor.
 Rod’s experience in the public sector is complemented by his career in the private sector. As former Director of DOE Operations for a large commercial engineering company, Rod gained valuable insight and experience in providing quality, timely, and cost‑effective technical services to the public and private sector. With his extensive experience in government and commercial arena’s, Rod is uniquely qualified to provide service and business excellence to federal agencies.
VETCO’s past performance is based on the individual credentials of the majority owner, Rod Nelson, and the minority owner, Restoration Services, Incorporated (RSI). RSI is a woman‑owned, small business established in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1996 that has an excellent reputation for providing proven cost-effective, innovative solutions. To provide cost‑effective and efficient infrastructure for the company, VETCO has agreements in place with RSI to procure specialty technical and business services.
